About Jude
Jude Taylor is a composer, lyricist, writer, musical director and sound designer from Leicester. He has been working professionally in theatre since 2018. He is currently a Generate Associate Artist at the Royal & Derngate in Northampton, and was previously a Resident Creative at Curve in Leicester.
Jude has composed original music and songs for a number of stage adaptations of popular children’s books, including ‘Pirates Love Underpants’, which sailed to the Sydney Opera House in Australia following multiple UK tours. His original musicals have also featured at UK venues such as Curve, The Other Palace in London, and The Lowry in Manchester.

Community Work
Jude has extensive experience in teaching, leading community-based workshops and facilitating groups, including as a singing teacher and musical director. From 2024 to 2026, he was Musical Director of the Curve Young Company and from 2024 to 2025 he was an artist and facilitator on the National Theatre’s ‘Speak Up’ programme working with young people in Leicester.
Following over 12 years of working in the voluntary sector with mental health services alongside his work in the arts, Jude also has a particular passion for promoting singing for wellbeing and has developed several singing courses/groups for adults with mental health difficulties in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. He is a qualified Adult Learning Tutor and Mental Health First Aider.
In 2019 he gave a TEDX talk on his experiences of singing for wellbeing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
